Frontier Labs is an independent software studio. We build focused iOS apps for people who want to spend less of their life inside their phone.

Why we exist

Most consumer software is funded by attention. Apps are designed to grow daily active users, watch time, and engagement. Those metrics quietly turn against the people using them. We believe there is room for a different kind of software company: one that ships fewer products, charges fairly for them, and measures success by whether the customer's life actually got better.

Frontier Labs exists to make that kind of software. Quiet, durable, useful tools. The digital equivalent of a well-made hand tool that you keep on your desk for years.

How we work

We are deliberately small. Each product is built end-to-end by a focused team and held to a high bar before it ships. We prefer fewer features done right, fewer notifications, and fewer attempts to manufacture engagement. We do not run ads, sell user data, or rely on dark patterns.

Customers pay us directly for software they use. That is the entire business model.

What we're shipping

Radical Accountability was our first product — an iOS app that helps people break compulsive phone habits through app and website blocking, with optional partner-backed accountability.

Variant Club is our second, built on the same foundation with a focus on recovery from adult-content habits: OS-level app locking, Safari content filters, streak tracking with cross-device sync, and partner-approved unlocks.
